7digital What we said: Album number five from this Pennsylvania producer/singer/rapper finds an artist interrogating himself and coming out stronger than ever. Mac Miller’s had a tough time lately (if you didn’t know him before, you certainly heard of him after his break-up with Ariana Grande, and the DUI charge that followed him shortly after), but Swimming is an album which acknowledges all this darkness and comes out cleansed – via a whole lot of water imagery. Indeed, as the name might suggest, this release is about keeping afloat, and with breezy beats from the likes of Blood Orange, it’s Miller’s most engaging work to date.
