7digital What we said: Though some may have once winced at the idea of combining post-punk with dance, Andrew Weatherall’s boundary-free approach to fusing genres has been a unique triumph. Responsible for records by Primal Scream and New Order, plus collaborations with Timothy J Fairplay, Weatherall is as renowned for his rockabilly attire and penchant for woozy riffs as he is for his dubbed-out DJ sets. Distorted guitars and ghostly vocals are at the forefront of this second solo LP, positioning the record on the psychedelic end of his dance-rock continuum. While there’s a chance some fans might be left longing for the past euphoria of his celebrated remix ‘Complotto Geometrico’, Convenanza reminds us that Weatherall isn't finished shapeshifting yet.
