There’s a record shop in London that’s so convinced of the soporific properties of Ernest Greene’s debut long player, they’ve erected a bed and invited customers to preview the album whilst luxuriating between the sheets. Whilst we’d agree tracks like ‘Eyes Be Closed’ do boast a certain woozy, blissed-out ambience, we reckon the beatific bounce of ‘Amor Fati’ and the reverb-drenched psychedelia of the Screamadelica-esque ‘Before’ is more suited to a sunset stroll somewhere tropical. Good job too, because you wouldn’t want to accidentally catch 40 winks and miss a moment of this glorious synth-pop.
