Straight outta Nashville, here comes his debut album, bearing a decidedly self-deprecating moniker that hints at some deficiencies in subtlety and precision. The anything-but-subtle, sonic-bludgeoning of ‘Sixteen Salteens’ aside, Blunderbuss proves a total misnomer for this expertly orchestrated, deeply melodic and hugely varied set, which finds Jack exploring blues, country and soul with the touch of a pro.
